Introduction
We all know GPS—Global Positioning System. It navigates us to specific destinations. Modern navigation software includes POI—Points of Interest—allowing travellers to visit interesting places en route. POIs have existed as long as humans have walked the earth. Anyone who’s travelled has at least one story of an interesting place they’ve visited. But Christians have something different: POP—Point of Purpose. What’s a POP? It’s the point that God guides you to in order to fulfil a specific purpose for Him. When you find yourself comforting someone, doing a random act of kindness, serving at church—these are Points of Purpose. Reality check: God is always with us. Sometimes we don’t realise His presence and care—especially when we need Him most. We get caught up with our wellbeing, finances, sinfulness, pain, emotional baggage, desperately needing someone to remind us of God’s presence and provision. When someone does remind us, it’s as if God Himself sent that person. Well—God did. God led that specific person to that specific point to fulfil that specific purpose, for you. Bono said, “When you align yourself with God’s purpose as described in the Scriptures, something special happens to your life.” The question isn’t whether God has POPs for you—it’s whether you’ll recognise and respond to them.

Final Thought
Charles Spurgeon wrote: “Purposes, plans, and achievements of men may all disappear like yon cloud upon the mountain’s summit; but, like the mountain itself, the things which are of God shall stand fast for ever and ever.” The sheep and goats parable isn’t about charity—it’s about recognition. Both groups had the same opportunities, crossed paths with the same needs, encountered the same POPs. The difference? One group recognised Jesus in the hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, imprisoned. The other didn’t. “When did we see you?” both groups ask. Same question, opposite outcomes. The righteous didn’t know they were serving Jesus—they simply responded to the Point of Purpose. The unrighteous didn’t know they were ignoring Jesus—they simply ignored the Point of Purpose. Each person wants someone to help them in their time of need. Sadly, those same people aren’t prepared to help others when they’re in need. We want to be someone’s POP but refuse to recognise our own POPs. Matthew 5:16 tells us to let our light shine before others—be alert for POP moments. Every interaction could be a divine appointment. Every need could be Jesus in disguise. Every opportunity to serve could be your Point of Purpose. God leads specific people to specific points to fulfil specific purposes. The question isn’t if—it’s when, where, and will you respond?
