Edition 30
Elected
Last Edition Recap
How have you applied the last edition to your life?
Opening Prayer
Father God, You elected Jesus to be the great sacrifice; help us understand what it means to elect Him as our Lord. Amen.
Introduction
Election season brings the machine to life—rallies, promises, speeches, selfies, conventions. Winners convince voters they’re trustworthy. Losers fail to inspire faith. You vote for those you believe in, withhold support from those you don’t trust. But here’s the perspective shift: when you became a Christian, you “voted” with your soul. You elected Jesus Christ as YOUR personal Lord and Saviour over all other authorities. Billions have cast this same eternal ballot, placing hope in grace, deciding to trust wholeheartedly. Christians even talk about “giving their lives to Jesus.” After voting, they commit to serve, trust, listen, obey, follow commands, support Gospel spreading, build His church. Common knowledge, uncommon practice. Gandhi observed: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” The ballot shows three boxes: God, Yourself, Satan. You’ve checked one. But voting isn’t attending—it’s supporting. Politicians without voter support after election lose power, effectiveness, eventually office. Christians “vote” for Jesus then abandon their candidate, expecting ministers to do the supporting because they’re “paid” to. They want the benefits of the election without the responsibility of citizenship. They don’t “live their vote.” Meanwhile, the Kingdom work sits undone, the Gospel unsupported, the Church unbuilt—all whilst voters claim allegiance but show absence.

Final Thought
God calls Jesus “Mine Elect”—the chosen one in whom His soul delights. When you became a Christian, you elected Jesus as Lord, voting with your eternal soul. But far too many treat this like absentee voting—cast the ballot then disappear. They talk about following and serving, but words become empty without action. They confuse belief with behaviour, thinking faith requires no application. They expect God’s work done miraculously without them, ministers paid to carry their responsibility. But ministers can’t get anyone into eternal life—Jesus ALONE does that. Those who elect Jesus as Lord should behave like it. Politicians know: votes without ongoing support equal failure. Movements know: members without participation equal death. Yet Christians vote for Jesus then live for themselves, Satan, or indecision. Gandhi saw it clearly—Christians unlike their Christ, voters who don’t live their vote. Isaiah shows God’s elect bringing forth judgment to the Gentiles, actively accomplishing the mission. Luke demands daily cross-bearing, not occasional acknowledgment. You’ve elected your Lord. The question isn’t who you voted for but whether you’re living your vote. Kingdom work waits. Gospel spreading stalls. Church building halts. Not because Jesus lacks power but because His voters lack participation. Live your vote.
