How have you applied the last edition to your life?
Opening Prayer
Loving Jesus, ignite in us the same passionate fire that spread Your Gospel across nations. Amen.
Introduction
Biblical heroes allowed themselves to become so consumed by God’s awesomeness that they could do nothing else but serve Him with everything. When the early church spread like wildfire across the Roman Empire, it wasn’t through committees or programs—it was through zealousness. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things because God was REALLY and FULLY their only God. They didn’t just utter “I am a Christian”—they lived it with zeal, more concerned about honouring God than their own wellbeing. This zealousness spread the Gospel, saved souls, changed the world. But zealousness isn’t exclusive to Christianity. Today, other religions grow rapidly whilst Christianity declines in many places. Fast-forward 100 years—will history reflect Christian zealousness or other religions’? Compare other belief systems rapid spread to Christianity’s decline in traditionally Christian areas. Why is this happening? We claim the same God who empowered the apostles, yet we lack their impact. The definition of zeal: fervour for a person, cause, or object; eager desire or endeavour; enthusiastic diligence; ardour. Confucius observed, “When you are labouring for others let it be with the same zeal as if it were for yourself.” The question stings: Are we part of the problem or the solution?

Final Thought
The early church turned the world upside down not through superior strategy but through superior zeal. They meant it when they served God. Today we have more knowledge, resources, and freedom than they ever did, yet we’re losing ground. Why? Perhaps we’ve traded zeal for comfort, passion for programs, fervour for formality. Other movements grow because their adherents are passionate about their beliefs. Meanwhile, we debate worship styles whilst souls perish. The problem isn’t that God has changed—we have. We’ve become professionals at being Christian without being consumed by Christ. History’s zealous heroes had one thing in common: God was their ONLY God. Not their Sunday God, not their crisis God, but their everything God. This zealousness wasn’t fanaticism—it was love expressed through action. When you truly believe someone has risen from the dead to save humanity, lukewarmness becomes impossible. The Gospel either deserves everything or nothing. There’s no comfortable middle ground. Will history remember this generation as those who rekindled the fire, or those who let it die? The answer depends on whether you’re part of the problem or the solution.
