Last Edition Recap
How have you applied the last edition to your life?
Opening Prayer
Lord God, teach us what it means to follow You in a world of endless distractions competing for our souls. Amen.
Introduction
We live saturated in information. Television, internet, apps, books—everything accessible with a single click. Whatever interests us, we feed instantly. Natural, really. But imagine all devices vanishing tomorrow. The void would be crushing. We’d realise how dependent we’ve become on constant input, endless scrolling, perpetual distraction. Now consider your soul—empty, longing for answers, desperate for guidance. The Bible sits there, an information highway for the soul, yet we treat it like outdated technology. We’ll spend hours researching our interests, binge-watching series, scrolling feeds, but consider five minutes in Scripture a chore. Jesus posts no memes. There is a meme that shows Jesus talking to a person saying; “I’m not talking about Twitter. I literally want you to follow me.” We hunger for everything except what feeds our souls. We follow everyone except the One who knows where we’re going. We master every app except the one that matters. Your soul isn’t interested in your interests—it’s starving whilst you feast on emptiness. The Bible isn’t competing for your attention; it’s trying to save what all your interests are slowly killing.

Final Thought
We’ve complicated something simple. Following means going where someone leads, doing what they do, becoming like them. We follow influencers religiously, memorise their content, buy their products, defend their opinions. Yet following Jesus—who offers our souls what no app can provide—feels like work. The deer doesn’t casually consider water; it pants desperately. Your soul isn’t casually interested in purpose; it’s dying for it. Jesus asks a haunting question: what will you give in exchange for your soul? We’re already answering—giving it away for likes, views, temporary interests that leave us emptier. The Bible isn’t another information source competing for bandwidth. It’s the manual for the only thing you can’t replace, upgrade, or reboot: your soul. Scripture equips, corrects, trains—not to restrict but to complete you. Following Jesus isn’t about losing yourself; it’s about finding the self buried under all the noise. Picture Him in the room with you right now. He’s not asking you to follow His posts. He’s asking you to follow Him.
